What’s going on here?
TL;DR. Take me to the recipes now.
Yet another online recipe forum. Yawn. Why is this one different?
IGNITE is a unique “peer-to-peer” community center for young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger’s Syndrome transitioning into adulthood. IGNITE offers activities and educational groups that foster independence and social interaction. Members work toward financial, educational, and employment success.

IGNITE is a place where members come together to share ideas, learn practical skills, build friendships, and feel comfortable being themselves.
There’s no skill more practical than feeding yourself, and nothing brings people together like breaking bread. IGNITE teaches members to prepare food using recipes that sometimes take a more direct approach in the instructions. This strategy can be helpful to people on the spectrum who may be more literal minded.
IGNITE‘s cooking class is popular, but the materials have historically only been available in printed form. IGNITEcooks.com aims to digitize the materials, making it:
- a resource available for use in IGNITE classes,
- available online for members and non-members,
- maintainable, current, and relevant.
