Jeff’s Sweet Salsa

- Medium Saucepan

Ingredients
- 2 packages crushed tomatoes, 28 oz 28 oz
- 1 onion, sweet chopped
- 1 Cup jalapeno peppers chopped, or 1 Tablespoon powdered peppers
- 3/4 Cup sugar, white
- 1 tbsp garlic, diced
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 Tablespoon cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon lime juice
Instructions
- Open the cans of tomatoes
- Pour the tomatoes into large saucepan
- Chop the onion into fine pieces and put in saucepan
- Chop peppers (if using fresh peppers) and add to saucepan
- Put the saucepan on low heat on the burner. Stir occasionally.
- Add spices as listed above. Stir.
- Add sugar. Stir
- Add lime juice. Stir
- Bring the mixture to a low boil, then turn off heat.
- Pour salsa into serving size bowls to cool. Serve chilled with chips.
