During intermediate cooking skills we learned how to make a salad. For salads you need a couple different things to make it a meal, and not just a bunch of greens. This salad is inspired by a submarine sandwich. Enjoy all the flavors and textures of this great salad!
Ingredients
For the Salad:
- 3 hearts of romaine
- 12 slices salami
- 6 slices provolone
- 1 bag of pepperoni
- 2 cucumbers
- 2 red peppers
- 1 1/2 cup of banana peppers
- 2 white onions
- 1 1/2 tablespoons black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoons dried basil
For the Dressing:
- 3/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 tablespoon honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
For the Dressing:
- Gather all the ingredients for the dressing.
- Measure out all the ingredients for the dressing
- Whisk together ingredients for dressing.
- Cover and set aside.
For the Salad:
- Gather all the ingredients.
- Chop up romaine lettuce.
- Slice the cucumbers, onion, and peppers into thin strips.
- Chop the cheese, salami, and pepperoni.
- Get a large bowl and put the lettuce in it.
- Put the vegetables in the bowl.
- Put the meats and cheese in a bowl.
- Add the black pepper and basil.
- Add the banana peppers.
- Add the dressing.
- Toss all the ingredients together
- Divide into servings and enjoy.
