Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Savory Gravy

- 1 Mixing bowl or hand mixer
- 1 Hot Plate
Materials
Potatoes
- 5 Pound bag Potatoes
- 4 Tablespoons Softened Butter
- 2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 4 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
- 1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Gravy
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 4 Tablespoons Flour
- 3 Cups Broth
- 2 Teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Teaspoon Sugar
- 1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
Making Mashed Potatoes
- Peel potatoes
- Chop potatoes
- Place potatoes in a pot
- Fill the pot with water
- Pull out a hotplate
- Turn the hot plate on high
- Place the pot of potatoes on the hot plate
- Bring the pot to boil
- Reduce hot plate heat to medium
- Cook until tender, 10-12 minutes
- Strain the pot
- Turn off the hot plate
- Unplug the hot plate
- Add 4 Tablespoons of butter to the pot
- Cream the butter and potatoes with a mixer
- Add one cup of heavy cream to the pot
- Add 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese to the pot
- Add 2 teaspoons of salt to the pot
- Add 4 teaspoons of garlic to the pot
- Mix the potatoes together until creamy
Making Savory Gravy
- Plug in the hot plate
- Turn the hot plate to medium heat
- Place a medium pan on the hot plate
- Add 4 Tablespoons of butter to the pan
- Wait for the butter to melt
- Add 4 Tablespoons of flour to the pan
- Whisk flour and butter until smooth
- Add 3 cups of broth to the pan
- Increase the hot plate to medium-high heat
- Whisk pan constantly
- Add 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce to the pan
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the pan
- Add 1 teaspoon of sugar to the pan
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper to the pan
- Whisk ingredients for several minutes until the gravy thickens
- Cover the pan
- Remove the pan from the hot plate
- Turn off the hot plate
- Unplug the hot plate
Potatoes and gravy
- Serve the gravy over the garlic mashed potatoes
